Kirk Franklin,Tim Godfrey Wows Lagos At Gospel Concert

American gospel icon, Kirk Franklin and Tim Godfrey gave many a night to not forget in a long time at Fearless Concert which held recently at House On The Rock Cathedral, Lekki, Lagos.
The night was not complete without some notable performances from popular gospel singers such as Sinach who blessed the audience with her national anthem, I Know Who I am. Other performances were from Frank Edwards. Nosa and Blessyn among others.
It was not all music as the duo of Kenny Blaq and MC Abbey provided rib-cracking comedy that sent the audience into a laughter fest.
One of the high-point of the concert was when Kirk Franklin revealed that his daughter got married to a Nigerian man last year. “I have a Nigerian in my family now. This is my family and this is my home for me people,” the American said. Understandably, this generated a loud shout of ecstasy among the audience.
Tim Godfrey and his Republic of Xtreme crew proved why the singer is often described as ‘Nigerian Kirk Franklin’ with a slew of breathtaking performances including some of his popular songs such as Agidigba and Na God.
Speaking about the event, Tim Godfrey said, “It was a big step of faith for us this year. We took a leap of faith. Kirk Franklin came with a 14 band members. I have looked forward to this day for 23 years of my life.”
Another highlight was the presentation of an award of recognition to Kirk Franklin by organisers of the event. While making the presentation, Pastor Paul Adefarasin said, “You have introduced gospel music to the world. On behalf of Tim Godfrey and the church family he represents, it gives me great delight to present this award to you.”
This provided a fodder for the headline performance of Kirk Franklin’s highly anticipated performance and the American did not disappoint. With the full compliments of his life band, the renowned gospel singer rendered a medley of song of his popular songs including Imagine Me, Hossanah, Lean On Me and so on.
In between his performance, he stood still in surprise to acknowledge the dexterity of the large audience that filled up to capacity the imposing edifice that is House On The Rock Cathedral, Lekki. He met his match in the audience who chorused word for word his songs showing no sign of let up.
